STEM A_SISON_INFORMATIOAL INFOGRAPHIC.jp

The infographic aims to inform the public of the details surrounding the island and its issues, such as the area it encompasses, and the no-diving law implemented for the soft opening on October 26, 2018. The contrast being shown between the details show just how much of the island was affected. Through knowing these issues, there is no confusion had by the masses and they are made even more aware at the severity of the situation shown in the island right now.

The infographic gives the first impression of something not-so-well, containing the theme and color scheme of "an island paradise" mixed with the "dark, toxic-looking color" that aids the information displayed, “The Boracay shut-down details”.  The dark colors show the darker side of Boracay’s current situation, which is most apparent with the dark-green trees and font color. The first notable thing is the look of the withering trees, complimenting the dirty details portrayed in the image above. The details provided are also organized in a manner of cause-and-effect, starting with branding the island as a “cesspool” and realizing how broken the island has become ever since it was known as “The Beach Capital of the Philippines”. Through the infographic, the important why’s of the island’s 6-month shut down is organized in a neat and orderly template.

Mentioning all the details above, the infographic, if read from top to bottom, emphasizes the disastrous effects that pollution has had on the once beautiful island. The order of information helps the reader understand the essential details presented whilst feeling the impact of destruction done on Boracay. Through this, it is genuinely hoped that people may be more aware of how harmful our man-made actions can be, and somehow change the way we treat our precious environment.

ABOUT US and mission

Boom Boom Boracay is a group that aims to bring awareness on the environmental needs of the Boracay island. The shut-down is an event that will go down in Philippine history as both a warning to care for the environment and a revelation of how badly-treated the environment is. With the 6-month shut-down, it just goes to show how deep the scars are from mistreating the beauty of Boracay. With the soft-opening coming soon, we aim to show awareness about this event and update the public on the current situation of the beautiful island.

Once known as “the beach capital of the Philippines”, Boracay is at a decline when it comes to its livability and tourist attraction. What’s more, it has been branded as a “cesspool” by the Philippine president himself, and it hurts to admit that it’s true. The situation of boracay has gotten extremely out of hand, and only the public can turn this situation around. So, let this tragic event serve as a reminder to take care of the environment. Let us help preserve nature’s beauty while simultaneously enjoying Mother Nature’s gift to us.
